Scalby batted well and Thornton were unusually lacklustre in the field. Thornton batted slowly to start with but an aggressive knock from Neil Eddon changed the course of the game ably supported by Rory Lancaster who carried his bat for 19

Sherburn U 15's 69-5. T-Dale 70-1. T-Dale win by 9 wickets
With Sherburn winning the toss and electing to bat, things got off to a steady start. With good bowling by Neil Eddon and Haydon Jackson runs didn't come too soon. After a couple of overs the runs soon came as did the wickets. But Sherburn's opener retired after being dropped twice. The very young team came to a total of 69-5 after 20 overs. Thornton Dale's openers didn't get a very good start with Will Witty getting a duck, Neil Eddon then came to the crease and scored a quick 28 retired. Oliver Sigsworth then came into bat and scored 19 no. to knock off the winning runs. Liam Taylor got 14 no.

Thornton le Dale Under 15's against Ebberston Under 15's
Thornton 92 for 9 ; Ebberston 93 for 5
A dreadful start by Thornton with top batsmen Jonny Read, Liam Taylor and Will Witty all back in the pavilion with only 6 runs on the board. Captain Oliver Sigsworth steadied the ship with an impressive knock of 27 (retired). All the Thornton batsmen struggled against some very good Ebberston bowling, however it was Rob Stephenson (15no.) and Harry Stenton both playing some unorthodox shots who finished well.
Ebberston batted on a wet wicket as the slow rain continued and lost early wickets, however with some average fielding and bowling easily knocked off the runs in the 18th over.
Thornton le Dale Under 15's against Dads & Mums
In a very very close game the Dads & Mums Captain Patrick Stephenson tossed up against Oliver Sigsworth and put the Under 15's in to bat. The severe sledging in this game was given by both sides and Will Witty was soon back in the pavilion due to some very good bowling from pace ace (not) Graham Hunt. Neil Eddon and Haydon Jackson put on a brave 50 partnership both retiring on 25 no. Captain Oliver Sigsworth decided to bat right handed and was out LBW scoring very few. Rory Lancaster, Rob Stephenson and Harry Stenton all played very well and some dodgy Umpiring decisions from the juniors meant wickets continued to tumble. There was some fantastic bowling from Graham Hunt, Pat Stephenson, Keith Eddon, Will Lancaster, Graham Sigsworth and PeteWitty and somehow, goodness only knows, allowed the Under 15's to amass 131, their alloted 20 overs seemed to be more like 24!
When the Dads and Mums batted the experience showed, Openers Graham Hunt and Matthew Todd swiftly moved the score onto 60 despite having to retire at 25, however with the openers out Pete Witty didn't bother the scorers and Graham Sigsworth hit some magical shots with sons Olivers bat, the first time the middle has ever been found. Tim Hunt scored quickly as did Will Lancaster, however Pat Stephenson playing his Captains role was out for a duck leaving the Dads and Mams needing 8 from the last 2 overs. Enter Di Stenton and at the other end experienced Keith Eddon who made this tight finish look very easy, Keith knocking the runs off with 2 balls to spare.
At the end of play the Scorebook was quickly removed in case any of the juniors realised how poor the parents Addition was.
The juniors were taught a lesson in how to cheat better by the parents .....but enjoyable for all!
Thornton le Dale Under 15's against Scalby Under 15's
An impressive Captain's innings from Oliver Sigsworth rescued the Under 15's from defeat. Scalby batted first and lost wickets through some good catches and run outs in the field and Scably's innings ended on 68 all out.
Thornton struggled against some hostile bowling from Scalby with Will Witty, Neil Eddon, Haydon Jackson and Rob Stephenson all out for very few runs.It was Captain Sigsworth ably supported by Harry Stenton who took the fight to Scalby, Sigsworth hitting 3 large sixes in his 29 no. In the end Thornton won comfortably but this game could easily have slipped away.
Thornton le Dale Under 15's against Seamer Under 15's
Thornton must be ruing their abysmal fielding as Seamer won with Thornton still needing 12 runs off their last over. Seamer batted first and the Thornton bowling matched their fielding, with short balls being dispatched with ease by the Seamer top end batsmen. Only Haydon Jackson bowled with any conviction but overthrows and poor fielding allowed seamer to amass 111 of their 20 overs.
In reply Thorntons inning got off to a poor start with Lancaster out for a Duck in the first over. Captain Oliver Sigsworth and Will Witty steadied the ship but struggled against some very tight Seamer bowling. Sigsworth retired on 25 and Witty was out for 16. Neil Eddon and Jonny Read both made 17 and 18 repectively but were out having to chase the total. In the end Seamer won with ease but Thornton must realise that every run saved in the field is one less you dont need to score.
Thornton le Dale Under 15's against Sherburn Under 15's
Thornton juniors came up against a very young Sherburn team and elected to bat. All the top Thornton Batsmen scored quickly and retired with Will Witty 26 Retired, Haydon Jackson 26 retired and Oliver Sigsworth 28 retired. Rob Stephenson also scored quicky getting to 20. At the end of the 20 overs Thornton amassed 148 for 2.
Sherburn elected to start with their young batsmen and Thornton sporting gave them all a chance but at the end of the 20 overs Sherburn only had 59-7. A comfortable win and well done lads.
Thornton le Dale Under 15's against Ebberston Under 15's
In the final game of the Season Captain Oliver Sigsworth won the Toss and put Ebberston into bat. Some good opening bowling from Haydon Jackson (2-6) and Will Witty and then sportingly all the Thornton juniors bowled which allowed Ebberston to reach 92-5 off their alloted 20 overs.
Ebbeston didn't show the same degree of letting all the players have a bowl and this seemed to spur the Thornton juniors on as with 2 overs to go Thornton only needed 8 to win. Liam Taylor and Neil Eddon were the ideal two batsment at the death as they easily hit the winning runs to give Thornton a well deserved victory by 2 wickets. Pick of the Thornton batsmen were Will Witty on 19 and Rob Stephenson 15.
